New Post: How to compile the source code

Hello all,

I ’ve just downloaded the source code instead of just the executable as advised, but how do I compile it and actually use it ? My OS is Mac OS 10.8.

I just updated Firefox to version 15.0.1 and discovered that it causes problems in WYSIWYG BBCode Editor.

After update it's not possible to place the cursor in textarea anymore. I have Windows 7.

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

i am using the editor and the parser found at http://wysiwygbbcode.codeplex.com/discussions/284375 and for the most part it works great but i don't get line breaks the only way i seem to be able to no matter how many times i hit enter all my text displays in one line.

I tried to cross the old bbeditor 1.4 to this bbcode wysiwyg-and i failed. The admin panel to have an integrated bbeditor old, in the folder where the files are:

1. folder: images/
2. ed.js
3. styles.css
4. bbeditorimg.gif

I tried to just rename the files and (editor.js) and (editor.css) to match the old version in the images i uploaded a required picture from the new version. I also threw sample.htm modified file.

Nothing seemed to help.
Is there any chance to do something similar, in order to establish this great editor?

We've made two fixed to the editor for our forum software (in which the editor is included).

Youtube fix:
This prompts the user just to enter the ID for the video. Obviously, you would need to update your parser to take this into account.
Find the Youtube function and replace with:

This allows you to insert smilies where you want.
After the Youtube fix, add:

The editor is great, and so easy to use.

Same issue. I've WYSIWYG BBCode Editor v1.0.0.2 but it's not fixed yet.

I would like to copy/paste a huge list of items (>50) that are in two columns and find a way to align them nicely.

I dunno what tags to use!

[col] [tb] ... are not working

1) When I use the "add table" in the menu, it gives me a nice table in the preview area but when I hit the "Generate the BBCode" button and then the "Load BBCode", it put all items on the same line and there is no more table!

2) If I copy/paste items that are in OpenOffice / Excel : same thing.

Please help!

Another thing, the code [HR] (to add a line) is removed when I reload the code. Why?

Wishlist:

- You should add a "add line" button / icon btw.
- A code "cleaner / inspector / checker" should be added to, to remove bad leftovers after an intense editing...

I have an iframe on my website which refreshes every 5 minutes keeping users online. I just noticed that this iframe doesn't refresh if WYSIWYG editor is included in that page. Session ends and user is logged off.

Why WYSIWYG editor causes problems for other iframes? Is there any way how to resolve this problem?

Hmm,

I tried to add a custom button so that [cit] some text[/cit] becomes <div class="cit">some text</div> but it doesn't work. Everything checked 50 times - no success. Nothing happends when I click on icon.

Of course, I added ".cit" to css file.

Actually I am trying to replace [quote][/quote] so that it formats quoted text instead of showing just bbcode tags around it.

Than I copied your example with [center] and it works. However, when I modify your example, it stops wotking. Mysticism...

Anyone can help to add this custom button.

1. Enter some text in textarea. Make it bold. Place cursor at the and of entered text and press "enter" once. Enter one more line of text. It automatically will be bold. Now click on "switch to source". You will see the following:

[b]First text[/b]

[b]Second text
[/b]

Now remove[b][/b] tags from "Second text":

[b]First text[/b]

Second text

Switch back to Html preview.

Select "Second text" and make it bold. It will become bold. Now click on "switch to source" again. You will not find [b][/b] tags around "second text" anymore. When you return to html preview you will see that "second text" is not bold anymore. You can try to format "second text" again and again. All tags will be removed not only in "source". The same will happend if you save the text - "second text" will be saved without any formatting.

Try to format text, for example, in Firefox. Save the text. Load saved text in textarea for editing in Opera. Add one more line of text at the end. Any formatting will be removed from new added text if you see it in "preview" or save it.

One more thing. it's not only opera related. I don't understand why the script makes so many newlines in bbcode. For example:

[b]Second text
[/b]

Why it puts [/b] in a new line instead of end of the text?

First of all - thank you for this great script. So far I was using a TinyMCE on my website but the problem was html tags. Many users are like children and make their profile texts like Christmas trees and usualy they copy formated texts somewhere. It leads the situation that some texts contains 90% of useless html tags like:

<p></p><p></p><p></p><span></span>span></span>span></span>

(the same as in this forum if you look at formatted text.)

WYSIWYG BBCode Editor is great - it allows to format texts in much cleaner way.

What I need is help to parse the BBCode. This is the function what I use:
